Kahani Dor
We collaborated with slow-fashion label Kahani Dor, a brand whose name translates to “Story Thread.” Rooted in rural craft traditions, Kahani Dor works to revive spinning, weaving, and printing practices while supporting dignified livelihoods and ethical production across India.
Their philosophy is that fabric carries a story shaped by the hands that create it which deeply resonated with our own material-led practice.

This partnership was a full-spectrum collaboration. We began with sampling and silhouette development in silk, refining drape and construction before moving into natural dye trials and colour exploration. Once tones were finalised, we transitioned into natural dye production and small-batch garment manufacturing within our studio.
The collection included silk shirt and trouser sets, tank tops, and complementary lifestyle pieces such as cushion covers and scrunchies, each developed with care from fibre to final stitch.
Unlike single-stage dye projects, this collaboration involved guiding each piece from concept to completion and ensuring cohesion between craft, colour, and form.
Together, the work reflected a shared commitment to slowing down the fashion cycle and honouring textiles not as commodities, but as carriers of heritage, labour, and intention.
